Welcome to the Friends of St Paul’s page

We are a group of parents, staff and other members of the community who get together once a month to plan and manage school fundraising and social events.

Last year we organised both Summer and Christmas Fayres, Quiz and Bingo nights and even an Autumn Firework Extravaganza for the whole community which was a huge success. Our last event was our Christmas Fayre which raised a grand total of £1,188. With your support we hope to surpass last year’s fundraising targets to generate as much funds as possible for the school.

Projects that the PTA has funded include gardening equipment and new sheds for the school grounds, in addition to subsidizing theatre trips and workshops for our children. Last Christmas PTA funds paid for every child in school to go to see Stafford’s big festive panto ‘Aladdin’ which took place at The Gatehouse Theatre.

In 2017 we are hoping to raise as much money as possible to help to fund our SCHOOL LIBRARY BIG BUILD.

School Library Big Build

Book DonationsAll proceeds raised from this year’s events will be directed into funding for our SCHOOL LIBRARY BIG BUILD. As our very exciting and challenging PTA funding target for 2017, all proceeds raised from this year’s events will be directed into funding a well-stocked library within the school.

We want to breathe new life into the glass-doored area outside the school hall to create a dedicated school library space. This will be designed with purpose-built storage for new fiction and non-fiction books where pupils can have easy access to a wide variety of these resources in age appropriate sections.

A school library is a catalyst for literacy and reading which makes a difference to pupils’ understanding and achievement, providing support for teaching and learning throughout the school – exactly the reasons why we want to make this our fundraising focus.

The PTA will keep all of you posted of all progress and will shortly display a totalizer both in our newsletters and right here on PTA page so parents and pupils can see the funds build and hopefully rise to our ultimate target.

We are currently taking guidance from St Paul’s teaching staff as to exactly what resources are needed. In addition, we are looking at supplementary funding options and will be making an action plan over the coming weeks so that, with your continued support at our events, we can make this idea become a reality!

Book Donations

We have a huge shopping list of books to buy for the new library space. So, as part of our SCHOOL LIBRARY BIG BUILD we are asking for any book donations to add to our collections. You can view the ‘wish lists’ for all year groups by clicking on the links below.

If you are able to donate any of these titles (or any other books which may be suitable) please drop off at the designated BOOK DROP OFF POINT outside the school office. All donations gratefully received!
