St Paul’s Cares
December 2016 visit to Drakefield Court
Class 4 showed their love and respect by visiting the elderly members of our community at Drakefield Court and sang Christmas songs, carols and played the guitar too. The residents complimented the children for their singing and their care and respect towards them.
St Pauls teamed up with the Samaritans Purse to bring hope and love to children who would not receive Christmas presents. We provided presents for children across the world. Thank you for all members of the school community who supported us!
Children In Need
We held a non-uniform day to support the children in Need charity. Thank you for all your kind donations!
Remembrance Day in Stafford town centre
Our Remembrance service began with the children exploring past heroes in the world. The definition of a hero was given as “ordinary people doing extraordinary things”, which led to meeting the soldiers that put the lives of others before their own. The service reflected upon the lives of those lost in war and also those fighting today. Several members of the local community, councillors and even the Mayor commented on how great it was that the children had come to pay their respects and also on their exemplary behaviour.
Staff and children in classes 1 and 2 worked together to create felt poppies for each child, and several children said ‘they were going to wear their poppies forever to remember the soldiers.’ Each class made a Poppy wreath and laid it at the Stafford Cenotaph in the town centre.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a great big thank you to everyone who has donated food for Harvest festival that went to our local food bank, it really does show that St Paul’s Primary school cares.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
In September 2016 we supported the World’s biggest coffee morning. Thank you to all baked cakes again showing how much St Paul’s cares for our families, and the local community.
Race For Life
On Friday 24th June 2016 the children joined Mrs Cumberlidge in completing our very own race for life around the school field. The children all took part on the day and a total amount of £549.50 was raised. This is a fantastic amount of which the Race for Life charity will be extremely grateful for. Thank you to everyone who sent in sponsor money.
