New Nursery Consultation
It is proposed that, with effect from 1st September 2026, the school’s age range will be amended to cover children aged 3 to 11. This adjustment aims to establish a dedicated nursery provision for 3- and 4-year-olds within the school, which will be integrated with the existing reception class. By combining these groups, the school will create a comprehensive early year’s provision, ensuring a seamless transition for young children as they begin their educational journey. Informal discussions held with current parents and the broader community have identified a clear need for increased options and additional capacity for early years education in the local area. This is particularly relevant to support local families, who are experiencing growing demand as a result of new housing developments in the vicinity and the Government’s expansion of funded childcare schemes. The proposed change will also enhance and broaden the range of facilities currently available, further supporting the needs of the community. Please note that the school’s reception admission limit would not change and therefore remain at 15 pupils each year.
Please note that the deadline for responses is 9:30am Monday 24th November 2025. All comments received will be acknowledged and will help inform a final decision on the proposal. The outcome of the consultation, once finalised, will be published on the school’s web site.
