Special Educational Needs
At St Paul’s we know that some children will have difficulty accessing the curriculum for a variety of reasons. To ensure that they get every opportunity to make progress we assess their particular needs and use a number of strategies to support them.
To find out more about the school’s ‘Local Offer’ which sets out how we support children please follow the link below:
If you have any concerns about your child please do not hesitate to approach the class teacher, Mr Davies and Mrs Leech for advice.
Mrs Leech is St Paul’s SENCO, she works every Thursday in school. Mrs Leech can be contacted directly via email here
Miss Mo Tierney is the named Governor for Special Educational Needs.
Our school has an access ramp at the front of the school, this can be used to gain entry to the school via the main entrance. There is also a ramp onto the playground.
We have 3 access toilets within school and all our rooms are on ground level and all doors are wheelchair accessible.
There is one allocated parking space for blue badge holders at the front of the school.
The Positive Play Support Programme contributes to all five outcomes of Every Child Matters. The programme is run for selected children to raise their self esteem through structured play on a one-to-one basis in a sensory environment.
Mrs Dunn has undergone extensive training enabling her to work with children on the Positive Play Support Programme.
